Ex IS
A comprehensive sample of the latest productions in the field of multidisciplinary, experimental audiovisual creation, with a special focus on the latest work being produced in the Basque Country by a group of highly varied young filmmakers, who have similar artistic concerns in common and share a commitment to their ideas about the creation of images and audiovisual atmospheres. This year, Ex IS will be presenting four programmes that aim to reveal the originality and profound meaning of these pieces conceived by a series of artists who construct them by stressing the collective dimension and the utility principle of the work, as a way of affecting reality to demonstrate its less obvious aspects, so that they can decontextualise and reinterpret it using fresh approaches. This sample includes work by directors like Felipe F. Gil, Joan Carles Martorell, Sally Gutiérrez, La Fiambrera, Estibaliz Sádaba, Elssie Ansareo & Eduardo Sourrouille and Ramón Churruca, among others.
