Tribute to International Jury

The International Jury at the 51st ZINEBI Festival is made up of the great American experimental filmmaker, Peggy Ahwesh, the German film historian and theoretician, Antje Ehmann, the Italian semiologist and professor, Loreta de Stasio, the Basque painter, Darío Urzay and the young Spanish filmmaker, Carlos Serrano. Apart from the aforementioned retrospective of Peggy Ahwesh’s work, we will also be able to see El árbol (2008), the first full-length film to be directed by Carlos Serrano, which took part in the Horizontes Latinos section at the San Sebastián International Film Festival in 2009 and at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. The scriptwriter and director of six shorts and co-producer and editor of Japón (Carlos Reygadas, Mexico-Spain, 2002), which won the Golden Camera at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003, he is currently producing and directing a full-length documentary about Cristóbal Jodorowsky’s therapeutic work.
