Pavel was born in La Habana in 1972. He was graduated at the High Institute of Design, studying for some years in the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños along with other places of artistic teaching. As an Art director and graphics creator he has collaborated in several films and plays. He has also worked as cameraman and editor for some fiction and documentary short films and videoclips. Pavel has directed different works for HBO Family/Skyline Features; Universal Music, ICAIC, EMI, New Latin American Fim Festival Bureau, Casa de las Américas, BISmusic and independent producers. He was given a grant from Fundación Carolina (Spain 2002) for the Development of Cinematographic Projects thanks to his screen play “Emporio Habana”. He is a member of the SGAE and UNEAC. In the year 2002, he founded along with other young cuban filmmakers Guagua & Co. Films, a cooperative of independent film production. At this very moment he is involved in the post-production of the Spanish Cuban co-production feature film LA EDAD DE LA PESETA.
