Presentation of short film selection process for Academy Awards and of The Guerrilla Filmmakers Handbook
Date: Wednesday, November 25
Time: 12:00 p.m.
Venue: Auditorium of the Museum of Fine Arts (Museo de Bellas Artes)
American director and producer Freida Lee Mock, who, as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, is one of the people in charge of selecting the candidate short films for the Academy Awards, will explain the criteria behind such a complicated process. She’ll be accompanied by young American filmmaker Jessica Sanders, whose short film Sing! was nominated in 2002 for an Oscar for Best Short Documentary.
Also, British independent filmmaker Chris Jones will talk about The Guerrilla Filmmakers Handbook, the best-selling textbook on low-budget and independent film production he co-authored. Mock, Sanders, and Jones are taking part in the seminar and workshop ZINEBILAB.
